I've been watching (and bidding) on a lot of Pottery Barn items lately for our new house. One item that I was watching was suddenly gone and I was very disappointed that I didn't have a chance to bid.
Well, this morning, I rec'd an email from the seller (I had previously purchased from her, so she had my email) that ebay suddenly closed all of her active auctions. She says she is the largest seller of Pottery Barn items and that they must be making an example of her, but it was because she was using Pottery Barn website pictures in her auctions and that it was in violation and that she is only allowed to use her own pictures.
Personally, I like it when sellers show both, the stock photo from the company so you can see the item in a room (specifically for home decor items like PB) and the actual item that they are selling.
Just mentioning this because I know of a lot of sellers who also use AG website pictures in their listings but I've never heard of eBay cracking down like they did with this one.
She said all of her auctions would be back up in a week or so once she could take all her own pictures. Of course, then I'll be on vacation and will probably miss the item I was orignally watching.
